Oxygen

Oxygen, or O2, is the second[LINK N2] most common gas found aboard SS13. It is, of course required to breathe by most races[LINK THIS], and is the sole oxidizing gas in the game.

Synthesis

Oxygen is created as a result of the dry heat sterilization of Miasma[LINK THIS] over [DHS HEAT REQ], as the reaction's name implies, there must be a lack of water vapor in the atmosphere for the oxygen to be created.

Oxygen may also enter the atmosphere through the application of chemical oxygen to the environment.

Acquisition

As it is required to breathe, the station is supplied with an air supply of 21% oxygen, 79% nitrogen, with numerous tanks and canisters of oxygen as backup.

Atmospherics is supplied with an external silo of oxygen of which the station's air is derived.

Oxygen may be bought directly from Centcom via the Cargo shuttle.

Use

Aside from breathing, oxygen has its use as an oxidizer of flammable gas, including plasma and whatever other gas

Oxygen is worthless as an export
